Congratulations to Dr. Xiao-Dong Zhou on being awarded this year's J. Bruce Wagner Jr. Young Investigator Award from the Electrochemical Society. The award was established in 1998 and is presented every other year to recognize a young member of the Society who has demonstrated exceptional promise for a successful career in science and technology in the field of high temperature materials.

A research scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory's Transformational Materials Science Initiative, Zhou's interests span the areas of structural, transport and magnetic properties of condensed matters and nonstoichiometric chemistry. He has published numerous peer-reviewed papers, proceedings, and book chapters.

Dr. Zhou will officially receive the award at the Society's fall meeting this October in Washington DC. During the meeting he will give his award keynote lecture, "Defect Chemistry and Charge Transport in Low Dimensional Oxides."
